Sunday School job descriptions are a necessity to the church if you have Sunday School to summarize the responsibilities, duties, etc. of the Sunday School staff.
The purpose of the Sunday School teacher is to prepare the hearts and minds and of the children to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior.
They have a very great responsibility on their hands. They are responsible for preparing the lessons, activities, maintaining their spiritual life along with creating opportunity for salvation...the list goes on and on for their precious Sunday School children.
The Sunday School Director has the great responsibility of overseeing all the Sunday School teachers in the church.
They meet with the Pastor and staff regularly to evaluate the work of the Sunday School and teachers. They set the agenda for Sunday School Planning Team Meetings, lead in developing an effective organization that facilitates spiritual transformation...the list goes on and on.
To help you be organized in your Sunday School classes you need to have job descriptions for each of your Sunday School church employees and/or volunteers.
I have included the Sunday School Teacher and the Sunday School Director in the job
descriptions below to use as a tool to create one of your very own job description for your various positions. Normally the Sunday School Teacher reports to the Sunday School Director and the Sunday School Director reports to the Pastor and staff depending on your Sunday School policy and procedures. These job descriptions can be easily modified for your Sunday School employees and/or volunteers.
Also, I have included the Sunday School Secretary/Assistant Secretary job description for those Sunday School Directors who have a secretary to help them. They also report to the Sunday School Director to whom they are assisting.
