One of my favorite Valentines Day gifts is the Valentines Day Coupons. They are hand-made coupons that you can give to your loved ones that are really gifts from the heart!
Valentines Day brings more meaning to the song "Jesus Loves Me"! Here is a short history of Saint Valentine for whom this holiday was named after. He was a Roman physician who was also a Christian Priest in the early days of the Christian Church. Christians saw tremendous persecution at this time and many practiced in secret. Valentine was working to heal a blind boy when Roman soldiers arrested him for his work as an "undercover" priest, and was shortly thereafter sentenced to die. Before he was taken to be executed, he took the time to write to the little blind boy a note to explain about Jesus' Love, enclosing a small treat. According to the story, when the boy eats the treat his eyesight is miraculously restored, and he is able to see well enough to read Valentine's note at the exact time that Valentine is executed. Our Youth Group does this every year and makes such a wonderful atmosphere of a candlelight dinner and much more I always can't wait until the next year.
