This sample letter can be used as a tool to create a letter from your church to a church member or family who is moving away to another area.
When a church member and/or their family is moving away from your church you just don't know what to say just anything and it's hard not to say the wrong thing and offend someone or make them feel guilty for leaving their church, especially if they have been there a long time.
Many times when we don't know what to say we just don't write the letter or note that we wanted to send and eventually we do not say anything. The intention to write is there but it's obvious that knowing what to say is not easy.
The sample letter below for a church family that is moving away can be used as a tool to customize a letter for your church or organization for someone in your church that is fixing to make this move. This sample letter includes:
[Church Letterhead or Name of Church & Address]
[Recipient Name & Address]
Dear [Recipient Name] :
I greet you in the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I was saddened when I was informed recently that you and your precious family will be moving away from the area, and will no longer be able to attend [Church Name]. It has been a pure joy having you and your family as part of our church family here at [Church Name].
Let me be the first one to say that you and your family will be sorely missed by not just me but the entire congregation/church family here. I believe I can speak for everyone here when I say there is not one person that you and your family has not touched in a very loving way. However, I trust that God will go before you and your family and will richly bless you as you embark upon this new chapter in your lives.
Isaiah 45:2a states: “I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight.
