Most children look forward to game time in Sunday School. You can make these games simple and short or as long as you would like as long as it's fun. Many Sunday School teachers use this game time as a reward for good participation in the Bible lesson or for holidays such as Easter.
One of the free children's games for Easter is "Where's the Stone?" that your Sunday School children will have fun playing. A large stone was placed in front of Jesus' tomb to protect his body from grave robbers. Lead the children in an Easter game to remind them of when the women went to Jesus’ tomb on Easter morning and found the stone that covered the tomb had been rolled away and the fact that Jesus was not there – He was Resurrected! Here are the game instructions:
- Assemble the children in a circle seated on a rug.
- Ask the children to hold their hands behind their backs.
- Show the children a stone that will be used in the game.
- Ask the children to close their eyes.
- Walk around the circle of children and place the stone in one of the children’s hands.
- Ask the children to open their eyes and then ask one child to try and guess which child has the stone.
- When he or she finds the correct child with the stone, the child who held the stone gets to guess during the next round.
- You can repeat this until each child gets a chance to guess.
