FDPP Month Three
The FDPP Month Three (Family Disaster Preparedness Plan) is available below with free forms to download and print for your Family Disaster Plan 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at your convenience.
The Family Disaster Preparedness Plan Month Three has two free disaster preparedness forms (Home Hazard Checklist-Preparedness Project #1 and Home Hazard Action List) available to download and print for your Family Disaster Preparedness Plan.
You will amazed to find out just what a little work can do to prevent many hazards in your home during a disaster of any type. If a little work can save a life, then it will definitely be worth it, wouldn't you agree?
These forms will help you identify any heavy or breakable objects of any kind on high shelves of bookcases or cabinets or on the tops of dressers or headboards, shelves, etc., and then you can make a note to move these objects to lower locations, and/or secure them to their original place.
The Family Disaster Preparedness Plan Month Three activities include:
- Download and print out the two forms below and add them to your Family Disaster Notebook for handy reference.
- Calendar a date and time for family meeting to conduct the walk through for any Home Hazards.
- When you meet, go through your home, room by room, and identify all interior hazards (items 1-7 on checklist).
- Next, inspect your home for utility and structural hazards
(items 8-10 on checklist). If you do not feel qualified or comfortable
completing the structural inspection, please contact a qualified
earthquake engineer to check your house and surrounding area.
- Record any hazards you find in the Home Hazards Action List and
keep this information in the Family Disaster Plan for the time being.
You will use these in the upcoming months.
- Calendar another Home Hazard Inspection one year from now. It's
a good idea to inspect your home once a year to find and correct any
potential fire and safety hazards.
The Home Hazards Action List includes a column for room, item an action to take. This form will help you not only to identify these hazards and which room they are in but to write down what action to take.
